I've had a horrible time lately. I've lost a lot of money fighting with an evil Home Owner's Association, and it's going to be a long road to try and recoup some losses. Details are at my GoFundMe, and I have a public post on LiveJournal for reposting.

I have some serious immediate need right now. I have a $200 overdraft at my bank, my rent is due in a few days, and my pay-cheque isn't going to stretch that far. so I'm taking immediate donations via my PayPal (forfookssake AT gmail [dot] com) all donations will be catalogued and repaid when I get back on my feet.

(Also, health insurance in this country well and truly sucks, and I'm very sorry that you fell into the gap.)

But in all seriousness, the health things sucks. Part of me feels guilty because I had insurance at one point, but the job the insurance was attached to was killing me mentally. So it was either stick it out and kill myself, or quit and muddle through.

Insurance doesn't help if the price of getting it is making yourself sick.

I don't suppose moving is an option? Medicaid expansion passed in the Blue states. It's not great, but it's something. (Vermont is working on universal coverage, but there's no telling yet when that will actually take effect.)

I know. Try explaining that to a family who brought you up with the "work 'til you die" work ethic.

Moving is an option, but while I'm so behind in everything I simply can't. My goal is next year or later on this year. I'm hoping that my tax run might be a decent amount. If it is, then that will be a possibility.
