Help rebuilding emergency funds

worlds_of_smokeOkay, my friends Tim and Alex need some financial help.
They traveled by bus from Arizona to the East Coast because Tim's going into law school and needed to do some campus scouting. Things went fine, until the trip home.
On the trip home, they got stuck for 5 hours in Cbus. Eventually, they were on their way. They made it to Missouri, but got stuck there. The earliest they could've left was 5 hours later.
Now, both of them work, and the first five hour stop would've had them landing at home at like 1 a.m., when they had to work at 6. Taking a sick day or calling off wasn't an option. They ended up having to rent a car, which was a huge strain on their finances. (It was $500 + whatever they needed in gas.) They had the money, but it leaves them with no emergency funds.
I'd really like to try to help them out some, so they can get some of that back. I know it's unlikely that we'll raise the whole amount, but if we can raise some of it, it'll help them rebuild their emergency fund. If you can donate even $1 or $5, that would help.
