Passing the Hat

Due to my lovely boyfriend's mental health issues he's cut down at work, a lot, in order to sort himself out. He is still working two nights a week, because he needs his own income in order to run the car we both use. That obviously means, as we're in the UK, paying for insurance, an MOT every year, and petrol. He's also going to be putting a little bit towards both the rent and the groceries, but that makes me the main breadwinner. At the moment I'm doing that through my ghostwriting. I have some wonderful buyers and there are some I won't stop writing for until they run out of ideas (which I don't think is actually possible). However I want to be earning the majority of my income from my original writing.

So I'm boosting both my Patreon account and my Etsy shop. I've posted a lot to Patreon this month, including some of my old work, a number of ebook (for $5 patrons), and my first ever recording (I do not sound the way I think I sound. I don't hear my own lisp most of the time, but it's bad when I record myself). I'm going to keep recording, because it's fun and I've decided I don't care about the lisp. That's who I am. That's how I sound. At my Etsy shop I'm selling custom writing and I will also be selling ebooks in the next month or so. (Is anyone willing to alpha read for me? All I need is someone to point out typoes and if my sentences aren't making sense.) If you check out my Patreon you can see my 'ALL THE RENT!!!' goal is $1000, which literally will cover the rent (as it's around about £650 for the two of us in our lovely little annex). At the bonus goal I'll be able to pay rent, plus groceries, plus gas. So that will make my life about a hundred times easier and far more fun, because I'll be able to post random recordings whenever I want (and hopefully get better at them, although I will never lose the lisp), and work on more novellas, and just generally not have to stress about life being life. (For the first time in my life.)

Every dollar helps. Every $5 makes me... well, dancing round the house for $5 probably isn't normal, but it's so exciting to me. $5 for me writing my own work. It's just so wonderful. Oh, and if you want to check out what I think is around about a million words of free fiction there is my website. If you like what I write go to my Patreon, toss a dollar in the kitty, and it will mean I can write more.
